Monday Star Count

There’s not much new going on here.  It’s still very cold with sleet and snow.  That means longer and more difficult commuting, so it can seem like the day is consumed by just working and getting there and back, but I was lucky to find some time to sew this past weekend.

I started working on a new project, a miniature Hunter’s Star quilt.  I’m making 3-inch blocks, machine paper pieced, 6 blocks per row, 6 rows.

Hunter star — 4 blocks

This is 4 Hunter Star blocks pieced together; I really like the way it’s looking so far.  I am always pleased with the precision I’m able to do with machine paper piecing. Tearing off the paper isn’t much fun, but it’s worth it.

Progress continues on my EPP stars/hexagons, most of it done on the train.

My Stars!

I’m linking up with Life Under Quilts’ Monday Morning Star Count.   This photo is the 15 that are finished and I have 3 more stars pieced, just waiting for the white diamonds to form the hexagons.  If all goes well, I’ll finish those during the week and get going on more stars.

Hope you all have a great week!

  3. Wow, I can’t believe your’e making such a tiny Hunter’s Star. I’m working on a larger one (I think it’s 7″) and know how much work each one is. Looks great!
